How many times will I install a dishwasher in my life?
Or build an addition to my house?
Or save for retirement?

These type of jobs are one-offs: as soon as you’ve figured it out, you’re done, and you’re unlikely to ever do that job again. I often find myself relying on extensive research, talking to others, double and triple guessing–and improvising.  A lot.  Some might find that frustrating, but I don’t: I love to learn and I love to teach–and I have a particular interest in design, systems, and the industrial arts.

I have benefited enormously from people who have shared things online, yet I’m surprised how difficult it is to find information sometimes. I’m happy to pore over the background details of a photo, or read three different blog posts about the same subject so I can discern the details of a process or product: it helps me get things right the first time around.

So, in this site I’ve decided to “document my findings” and keep track of “things I’ve figured out”… on the off chance it’s helpful to someone else.

I’m starting with RVing, camping, and travel… with a little handiwork thrown in. But I’m a passionate generalist with an eye for good design, so sooner or later—or maybe just at random—things will branch out.

I do most stuff on YouTube, so feel free to subscribe to me there… or drop me a note below:
