French Cleats

If you're hanging something—even something really heavy like kitchen cabinets full of dishes—to a wall, it's hard to beat a French Cleat.  These systems are easy to construct using basic tools, can be configured to virtually any space, can handle heavy loads, and can be as simple as a single cleat or as complex as hundreds of cleats.  French cleats are within the reach of even the most unskilled person using basic tools.   Best of all, they make it super easy to level things on a wall and to put things up in a way that makes them easy to take down. Here's a video by Marc Spagnolo (aka theWoodWhisperer).  His stuff is great.  This example is for storing tools, but the same system can be used to hang just about anything on a wall.
